Joe’s presentation is truly inspirational as well as educational. His personal story reminds us that we are responsible for choosing the paths we take in life; we cannot blame others for our actions or mistakes. He stresses the importance of surrounding yourself with positive people, those who will rejoice in your accomplishments. He reminded our students that we truly do wish them each to be successful; we are merely here to guide and cheer them along their way. Most importantly, Joe’s presentation reminded me that every student/person has their own story. I am now more empathetic of those I meet who are struggling in their life, and I ask myself, “Is there anything that I can do or say to help guide them along their path, or perhaps encourage them to try a different path?”
