Testimonials

Mr. Joseph J. Webb was our invited keynote speaker on Saturday, April 26, 2014. The audience consisted of our Latino Unity Club members, the club advisers, and administrators, and faculty members at our campus. Although Mr. Webb is not a Latino, his life story is both amazing and exemplary. The hardships, challenges, and sufferings that he faced on his journey to where he is now are enormous, but he has always managed to find a way to succeed. Everyone in the audience was brought to tears and amazement as he spoke of his journey which included several experiences which most of us could not imagine. Joe lived as a foster teenager with very little money, but always had the desire to get an education and move ahead. He claims that he was fortunate to move several times and always found mentorship along the way. When he did get his undergraduate degree, this gave him incentive to work harder and learn all he could about the admissions process in the college setting. He then realized he wanted to help other less fortunate individuals succeed in their journey. His story is an exemplary one and students, especially, those having to struggle to gain an education and experience success in the workplace, would benefit immensely by hearing his personal story.

Sincerely,

JoAnne B. Pumariega
